I bought some fresh Michigan cranberries from my local Whole Foods the other day and was excited to make this cran raspberry smoothie recipe. I failed miserably. My first attempt was WAY too bitter. I used too many cranberries and not enough raspberries.
Fortunately for you, my trials and tribulations in the kitchen led to several tweaks. The result was a much less bitter version of the original cran raspberry smoothie I concocted. I added a bit of Truvia (a no-calorie, all natural sweetener) to balance out some of the bitterness, used more raspberries than cranberries (about a 3:1 ratio), and added more ice.

How to Make Cran Raspberry Smoothie?
This smoothie is really one of the healthiest ones in my arsenal. Cranberries and raspberries and both super-high in antioxidants. Cranberries can also help block urinary infections, prevent plaque formation, and increase your good (HDL) cholesterol levels. Don’t think that buying a gallon of sugar-sweetened cranberry juice from the store is just as healthy though. It’s not even close.
This cran raspberry smoothie uses 100% real ingredients from nature … not juice “from concentrate” and added sugars. It has only 72 calories and zero grams of fat.
